re/branding case study

Strataigize is a results-oriented app marketing agency that specializes in App Store Optimization (ASO) for mobile apps. they were looking for a visual refresh to help reposition themselves as a more reputable leader in the app marketing space.

I was hired to be their Creative Lead and oversee a comprehensive rebranding + web redesign in an effort to increase their organic traffic, sales and reputation.

case overview

so, for context

this is what i was given to work with →

strataigize marketing

the
challenge

Strataigize faced significant issues with their brand’s perceived value as their existing branding lacked coherency and polish.

my
approach

i presented the founders with a set of rapidly-developed creative briefs to help them visually frame the brand they desired.

design process

02

broad exploration

the first phase of the design process involved a broad exploration of themes and symbols.

i leaned heavily into their messaging of ‘strategy’ and ‘guidance’, hence the lightbulbs and knights.

to complement, i made a handful of landing page snapshots to help the founders better understand the logos as part of a visual/brand ecosystem.

this ended up being crucial to the communication of logo value.

refinement

03

narrowing down

this logo set was selected to proceed →

the founders loved the vibes of the colours, shapes and voice.

narrowing down

from here on, we worked within this thematic framework of

‘fun/edgy tech vibes’

iterations upon iterations

we love figma.

and finally...

i presented the team with a polished branding set with placement examples.

they loved it.

strataigize marketing

so we
tested...

the founders reached out to their network and past clients to gather feedback on the visual rebrand.

and got
results...

despite the visuals being pretty, the general opinion was that they didn’t feel aligned with the agency’s identity.

refinement

03

...and we're back to figma

i revisited some previous ideas and wordmarks that utilized a more minimalistic, abstract style.

and so
i cooked.

i turned this →

technically

i became a lot more familiar with figma’s vector editing tools and as a result, didn’t have to use illustrator!

i also learned to leverage a variety of ai tools that have greatly enhanced my workflow efficiency + speed.

personally

the project greatly trained my ability to rapidly ideate and conceptualize.

i also learned valuable lessons on collaborating and communicating with marketing and sales. honestly, this was the biggest takeaway here.
